Our Team

Pippa Pettigrew Senior Podiatrist BHSc(Pod). PNZ

"I was drawn to Podiatry as I wanted my work to be interesting, challenging and contribute to improving people’s health. I love helping people and seeing them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. I have over 20 years experience treating a diverse range of foot problems and enjoy all aspects of podiatry from treating painful corns, calluses and toenails to helping diabetics and children manage their foot pain. I have a particular interest in biomechanics and video gait analysis and enjoy the challenges that come with treating sports injuries".

Rose Pearcy Senior Podiatrist Dip.Pod.NZ. NZReg. PNZ

What’s great about Longhurst podiatry? In my opinion, having the ability to work collaboratively with other health professionals provides better client outcomes and continuity of care. Over my 29-year career I have worked in a wide variety of health settings including hospitals, rest homes, diabetes clinics, physiotherapy practices, medical centres, and podiatry practices. While ongoing professional development is the cornerstone of my learning each different work setting has enabled me to draw on different skills that I have gained and put them into practice. This has greatly enhanced my understanding of how to best support clients in their rehabilitation processes. Over the years I have greatly enjoyed working with people of all ages and from different backgrounds. Seeing the joy on people’s faces when they realise that their foot pain can be eased makes my day and is the reason that I have kept on working as a podiatrist.

Catherine Kelly Senior Podiatrist BHSc(Pod). PGDipSportsMed

My journey to becoming a podiatrist began at the age of 11, when I experienced ongoing heel pain and was successfully treated with orthoses. That experience not only resolved my symptoms but also sparked a strong interest in a profession dedicated to helping people stay active and achieve their goals. I was drawn to podiatry for its unique combination of specialised knowledge and diverse treatment approaches.

I also witnessed firsthand the positive impact of podiatric care through my Nana, whose regular visits enabled her to remain mobile and comfortable, free from the limitations of corns and callus. Seeing how effective treatment could significantly improve quality of life reinforced my desire to pursue this career.

After completing a Bachelor of Health Science in Podiatry in 1999, I returned to Christchurch to begin practising. Committed to ongoing professional development, I later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine through the University of Otago.

I take pride in combining practical skills with strong clinical knowledge to provide individualised care for every patient. Treatment plans are tailored to each person’s needs and goals, and I collaborate with other health professionals when appropriate to ensure the best possible outcomes in a timely manner.

My aim is to help you return to your chosen activities — whether that’s high-level sport or simply moving comfortably through daily life. I am passionate about keeping people active, healthy, and achieving their fitness goals.
