Our Team
Pippa Pettigrew Senior Podiatrist BHSc. POD. PNZ
"I was drawn to Podiatry as I wanted my work to be interesting, challenging and contribute to improving people’s health. I love helping people and seeing them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. I have over 10 years experience treating a diverse range of foot problems and enjoy all aspects of podiatry from treating painful corns, calluses and toenails to helping diabetics and children manage their foot pain. I have a particular interest in biomechanics and video gait analysis and enjoy the challenges that come with treating sports injuries".
Rose Pearcy Senior Podiatrist Dip.Pod.NZ. NZReg
What’s great about Longhurst podiatry? In my opinion, having the ability to work collaboratively with other health professionals provides better client outcomes and continuity of care. Over my 29-year career I have worked in a wide variety of health settings including hospitals, rest homes, diabetes clinics, physiotherapy practices, medical centres, and podiatry practices. While ongoing professional development is the cornerstone of my learning each different work setting has enabled me to draw on different skills that I have gained and put them into practice. This has greatly enhanced my understanding of how to best support clients in their rehabilitation processes. Over the years I have greatly enjoyed working with people of all ages and from different backgrounds. Seeing the joy on people’s faces when they realise that their foot pain can be eased makes my day and is the reason that I have kept on working as a podiatrist.
Natasha Wheal Podiatrist BHSc. POD. PNZ
Having graduated in 2018 Natasha moved to the UK to work as a Podiatrist for the NHS. “Working overseas was eye opening to say the least, I gained valuable clinical experience working as part of a large team. My team specialised in Diabetic Podiatry, particularly during the pandemic when hospital outpatients were diverted to our clinic”. Now back in New Zealand with a young family Natasha is glad to call Christchurch home. She brings her diabetic and wound care experience, as well as an interest in general podiatry including nail surgery, skin and nail care, paediatrics, and biomechanics.
